Our History

IBIS Salon was established in the summer of 1992 by Dennis Body of Richmond, Virginia. After completing his Redken Academy training, Mr. Body began his career in 1981 at Shear Technique, one of Richmond's most well respected and better known salons. His association with Shear Technique, a Redken Ambassador Salon, provided him the additional high-level experience and hands-on training to perfect his technique in all areas of the beauty industry. "I am proud to say that former Stylists and Colorists from Shear Technique are members of my team today."

Our Products

IBIS Salon offers the finest in haircare products. "Pureology is a line of products, produced by Redken that I am very excited about," according to Mr. Body. "These products are 100% vegan and certified organic [meaning NO PESTICIDE was used within a 12-mile radius of where these vegetable proteins were grown]. This brings a whole new level of excitement to us as stylists. Offering this type of product to our guests is critical in the world we live in today."

With Redken and Pureology, the molecular size of the vegan proteins are such that they actually enter and strengthen the hair as opposed to coating it which has a dull and drying effect. "I invite you to contact us to schedule a complimentary consultation."

 Our Multi Level System

At IBIS Salon we have adopted a multilevel system. This multi level system insures that every service provider at IBIS Salon is trained at the highest level. The beauty of this is that we can meet the needs of every budget.

Our multi level system offers our service providers a career path. Every new service provider starts their career path at Level 1. As a service provider meets their goals, based on performance, they are promoted to the next level. At our highest levels, 4A and 4AA, you will meet the service provider’s personal associate who shadow them daily and are trained to partner with the service provider. This career path allows us to offer you, our guest, the highest level of personal service and skill available.  Please feel free to ask us more about our multi level system.
